August 11th 2005 - In the interest of fairness, I need to clarify a few things:

  1. I was not fired from Ringling. My contract as a Visiting Artist was merely up and I was not offered a renewal.
  2. I was offered a class to teach as and adjunct, but I am being very stingy about what I will take. What I need is full-time or no-time – for now anyway.
  3. Sending emails to Larry Thompson is probably a worthless endeavor. He has little or no bearing on the faculty members that get hired. This is the responsibility of the various department heads.

August 4th 2005 - I am happy to announce that I am having a solo-exhibition at the Pacini Lubel Gallery in Seattle. This is my first big show at a commercial venue and I couldn't ask for a better one. The gallery's owner has a great vision for the gallery that includes an ecclectic collection of figurative painters, many of which I feel highly honored to have as gallery mates.

August 31st 2005 - I am sad to announce that I will no longer be employed by the Ringling School of Art and Design. In spite of glowing student evaluations, high demand for my classes and formidable professional development, it seems that that they would rather not have me teaching for them on a full-time basis. I'm still scratching my head about this. I checked the registered sex-offender website and there's nobody named Aaron Board on there - so I know that can't be the reason. If you're just as flummoxed by this as I am, then talk to the administration and ask them why I've been treated like a pariah - maybe you can get a straight answer and relay it to me. It sure would be swell to know.

December 2004 - I was a fortunate recipient of a George Sugarman Foundation Grant. http://www.georgesugarman.com

April 2004 - I was very fortunate recipient or The Fulton Ross Foundation for Visual Artists. http://www.fultonrossfund.org
